The new Toyota Wigo is out, and finally officially launched in the Philippines. With prices starting at just P568,000, the small hatchback from Toyota Motor Philippines makes its presence known via an online launch.
A new face is accompanied by a new set of features that include the head unit with a backup camera, a new set of wheels, and even a restyled rear-end.
Poised to take on the small hatchback segment in the Philippines, Toyota has opted to update one of its best-selling models. With a 69% market share according to data gathered from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) in 2019.
The new facelift is the second iteration in this generation’s product lifespan. The initial 2014 model had softer lines and a friendlier appeal, and over the years, Toyota has opted to increase the aggression in the Wigo’s front-end. The new face is an evolution over the 2017 facelift and now looks angrier and more stylized.
The interior has also been adjusted for the model’s second nip and tuck. New cloth panels have been added to the interior to add some freshness to the design. Toyota has also gone with a new head unit capable of connecting to your smartphone via Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. Toyota has also updated its climate controls replacing the dials with a digital button array that lets you manually adjust the airspeed and temperature.
